I need to look at some recipes, plan out this week's menu and head to the grocery store as well.
I'm tired today but I know that's because I had a long day yesterday, did 3 workouts and didn't get much sleep. I know I'll need a nap today or the wheels are going to fall off.
I'm sticking to it though. Saturday will not tempt me. Shaun T and I have a date later which I'm actually looking forward to!
Snacking: Was up early to take one of the roomies to the airport and I knew I'd better get something healthy in my body or I'd just be starting the day on the wrong foot. A scrambled egg was quick and easy plus put some protein in me for my workout to follow.
Workout: Insanity Day 6...really looking forward to resting tomorrow. I also bought a thick workout mat since I've just been jumping on the living room rug. Figured that a little more cushion on the landings might help my joints out a bit. The key is to actually stay on the mat...I tend to travel as I do stationary movements like jumping jacks. I am definitely feeling all my exercise from yesterday. My ups were lacking more than usual today. Sorry Shaun T. I'll do better Monday after taking Sunday off.
It got so insane my gum fell right out of my mouth...oops! |
Breakfast: I bought this papaya earlier in the week and have been eyeing it ever since. I know W30 recommends eating fruits sparingly but this girl LOVES fruit, and I figure that nobody ever got fat eating fruit so I'm doing it. Squeeze a little lemon juice on it and bam! Delicious! Paired with sweet potato hash topped with 2 eggs and a little sautéed spinach. Hit the spot!
In regards to portion size...don't be deceived, I'm eating a lot. You might not be able to tell how much hash is under the eggs, but it's a fair amount. Plus there is an entire chicken sausage chopped up in the hash so that's added protein as well.
Yeah, I dominated that papaya. |
Hard boiled egg and some asparagus |
A fruit nut bar |
A handful of cashews and almonds |
Mango Salad |
Only problem is...making all that food results in a TON of dishes...this photo does not do a great job of capturing the mess I made!
Thoughts:
Woke up this morning and my pj pants that have been a little too tight weren't, well, too tight. They were actually slouchy around my waist. And...I even washed them yesterday-everything is always tight after the wash! Though I am excited about it, I know that my body can't have changed too much over the last 5 days...but it's a step in the right direction, and I'll take it!
I haven't really had any cravings yet. Well, the other day I wanted cereal...Golden Grahams to be exact. But I wasn't craving them...they just sounded delicious and I knew they would taste amazing and the milk and the sweetness and the crunchiness. But I think it was more of a mental craving than a physical craving. Don't get me wrong, things look good but up till now I've been able to avoid the actual physical reaction. I'm such a mental/emotional eater so I guess that makes sense to me.
I've also noticed that I'm having a harder time regulating my body temperature. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the change to my diet/exercise or if it's because I might be fighting off a cold. I'm usually a hot person...everyone else might be cold but generally I'm fairly warm. Lately though, I've been getting cold more frequently and having a hard time shaking the chill once I do get cold. Don't know if it's because my body doesn't have to work so hard processing all the crap I used to eat or if it's because I have less insulation (yeah right, just kidding!) anyway, has anyone else noticed this?
My abs are sore. Not all the time, just when I move certain ways and especially when I try to "suck it in" so I'm deciding not to do that-I'll let it all hang out. I'm glad though because I really struggle to work my core due to some back issues. Leave it to Shaun T to work my core without hurting my back. It's only been done by one other person--the world's greatest trainer, Bill Miller, who trained me for a while a few years back.
I'm exhausted. Like, really, really tired. Wondering if I'll even make it through an entire tv episode before falling asleep. No workout tomorrow though, so that should help.
How is everyone doing? Anyone wanna guest post one day this week with their daily activities? Let me know...I'd love to see what everyone else is doing.
